I was just wondering where the stock ground locations are for a 2003 Mustang V6.. I took a quick glance in the engine compartment and see three ground wires coming off the battery.. There are 2 smaller gauge wires and 1 large gauge wire.. 1 of the small gauge wires grounds right next to the battery while the other small wire and large wire run towards the bottom of the engine but without a lift or jack I cannot see where they lead.. I had issues with my battery in the past.. Issues included turning key to start vehicle and everything losing power, battery not charging, etc.. I was told that the first symptom is a classic sign of a loose cable, probably the ground.. Also was told that a bad or loose ground could prevent the battery from taking a charge.. One time while out the car was running fine and then I started to loose power where the lights inside starting turning on and off and the car died while driving.. I am hoping it is just a loose cable that is interfering with the battery charging properly.. I am not too mechanically inclined but a while back I was getting dead batteries and used a test light to see if there was any draw in the vehicle and wasnt seeing any signs of a major draw.. Again hoping its just a loose wire somewhere and wanted to find out where the grounds are supposed to be.. If i recall correctly it was mentioned that the engine block grounds to the vehicle but does the battery ground directly to the block or is it supposed to ground to vehicle?
