i have an 04 gt with the factory keyless entry remotes. the black ones that have lock, unlock, panic and trunk. i been recently having problems with them working on occasion. sometimes they work fine but others i have to press the lock a bunch of times to get the doors to lock and for the horn to beep. at first i thought it might be that i was to far away so i tried it closer and still got nothin. then after a few tries it finally started to work. this happens on prob 2 out of 5 times. the first thing i tried was replacing the battery in the remotes but even with a brand new battery it still does it.
i was thinking i prob need new remotes but it could prob also be the brain inside the vehicle to right?

Just pull apart the remotes and clean the battery and button contacts. They just get dirty over time and get finiky.

I also bought one of them with the pony on it on ebay for $30 shipped and it comes with the programming instructions, real easy to program.
