I'm wanting to put in my new AM gauge this weekend and was wondering if I remove the factory oil pressure sending unit and do not replace it, will it throw something in the computer or does all it work is the gauge on the cluster? I've been thinking about making that T set up but since I figured that I'm going to be using an AM I won't need the factory set up.

It wont throw a light or anything.

When I did mine I made the T though, I just didnt want a dead gauge in the dash.

It was real easy. I used like a 3 inch pipe, the made it go straight down, put a 1or 2 inch pipe on that, then put a tree with three holes on that. The pipe in the top, aftyermarket sender pointing towards the front, and the stocker on the bottom (had to extend the wire a bit).

Eric is right - do the Tee. If you want pics and part numbers, look up threads started by Ernan. He had a two pager with tons of pics and stuff.

Good luck.

Go with the tee, it looks goofy if you have a gauge in the dash not working. I know that's how mine is.

My gauge never really worked and I wasnt about to chase down the wiring issue. Tried replacing the sender that didnt work so I bought a Cobalt series AM gauge. I have an idea on what to do with the dead gauge space though but its going to have to wait till spring.
