factory paint

[Bolt on 5.0]

I was just wondering what the factory used on my car. 1993 mustang lx fire engine red. Is it 1 stage epoxy. 2 stage with clear.

I wanted to paint the front bumper has a few chips and figured I will give it a whack. If it comes out bad I'll bring it in a get it sprays. What better way to practise.

Also any painting sites to read and learn about painting.

I beleive it's single stage.

IIRC, the '93 Cobra was the first Mustang to receive clearcoat? I could be wrong though

i thought that some colors were clearcoated and some werent? i use to work with a guy that had a strawberry red lx that had the clear peeling off the hood. There is a guy on this forum with a white fox vert that still has the factory non-cleared paint on it. i could be wrong, wouldnt be the first time.
