Failed Emissions why?

failed emissions....Upstream and/or downstream 02 sensor heater circuit fault...trouble code i believe was P0135...is what it said...what is going on and how can i take care of this? whats this do

P0135 Heated O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
replace the passengers side front O2 sensor.

how much can i pic up an 02 sensor for and whatever else i might need

I think they're around 50 bucks. Might want to pick up some antiseize to put on the threads.

ya, a little dollop of anti-seize is good. this might also be a good time to do a tune-up if you havent done one in recent memory. spark plugs, wires, fuel/air filters, oil change will all help out your emissions. when they test do they do just a scan tool test or do they do a sniffer test?

OBDII scan for codes...i just wanna get this doen cuz i am selling the car and i needa get this done and a lil thing else done....if you kno any1 thatll be willing to get a 96 GT for 6500 OBO im willing to sell....located in IL
