Passed- Gas Cap test, Evap Components, and Oxides of Nitrogen(NOX) in grams/mile by 2.16(2.50 is the standard)

I failed- Hydrocarbons in grams/mile by 2.77(1.00 is the standard)
Carbon Monoxide in grams/mile by 21.93(12 is the standard)

What should I do 2 fix it 2 pass?

You barely failed man... good job...

I had failed miserably... To pass I ran some "guaranteed to pass" and pulled a TON of timing (I actually pulled the SPOUT) and it passed...

Summar y of my trials:

first time (re installed my high flow cats, hole in air pump supply to cats, no egr): HC 27 of 60, CO .02% (not sure limit), Nox 1370 of 700 : FAIL

2nd time (EGR still non-functional), ran CRC guaranteed to pass, and put some isopropyl alc in the tank): HC: 189, CO 6.4%, Nox 132: FAIL

3rd time (disconnected spout): HC 29, CO: .01%, Nox: 135 : PASS

yup pulling the spout is the trick . it will run up about 3-4000 rpm's but after that forget it. after the test put the spout back in and your all good. just don't drop the spout connector into the fender well (trust me I know)

When we tried pulling the spout we tried it while it was still on the rollers and when it looked like it would pass we went back to the counter to "re-schedule" then next open spot.

When asked why it failed we said I forgot to connect comething when I tuned it up.

That's crazy. I passed the test in Tucson which is as strict as Guero's when I had no operating smog pump, gutted cats and a disconnected EGR. I just made it all LOOK like it was working for the flashlight/mirror inspection. The numbers were still pretty clean. I did pull timing with the tweecer and got it running insanely hot without the fan while trying to get it to run lean as well.

not everybody has a tweecer to adj stuff. all most of us have is a timing light and basic hand tools , or maybe the sniffer where you took it to was a bit off. IDK i couldn't get mine to pass till i pulled the spout and i have all the emissions crap installed. maybe someone was in my puter and adjusting stuff before i bought it. IDK

You could still effectively do what I did (by your method of pulling the spout) combined with disconnecting the fan's power to get the car as hot as possible.

your running rich there buddy. Maybe if you have an Adjustable FPR turn it down a bit. those numbers indicate rich.

When you pull the spout what should the timing be set at prior to getting the car smogged?

Is this in reference to a test on the rollers?
I only have the sniffer test and I failed the HC. I'm going to reinstall my stock hpipe so it should come down to 440 from 903...the standard is 220.
Hopefully by lowering the fp from ~42 to 39 and pulling the spout will get me there. Just need to know where to set timing.
BTW....the car is chipped so can I still pull the spout and get results?
Any other sugesstions are welcome.

Thanks

I have my timing set to 12 all the time ( stock timing is 10*). All I do is pull the spout then get it sniffed. they don't take it over 2000 rpm on the rollers. IDK about having a chip and pulling the spout but I don't think it would matter. Also get the cats good and hot before the test and i don't mean city driving either (RUN that mother)
