I went to get the emmisions done today and it failed. It passed everything but the hydrocarbons. It read a 2.66 and it should be .80. Is there something i could by or do for a temp fix on this? Also my check engine light flashes everynow and then. Was told it could be o2 sensors. Any help would be great. I just want to get plates for this car. Im tired of swapping plates everytime i want to drive it. thanks

start with pulling the codes and see what the computer says is wrong.also do you have the factory cats on it .what about the air pump whats you combo,is it stock or modified need to know the mods.

when i lived in arizona i had my car and had to do emissions. It had the B cam it which is not an emissions cam. Any ways first time there i hit a 36.12 and it was suppossed to be no higher than 12.00 for hydrocarbons. So i went to home depot bought 3 gallons of denatured alcohol ran my gas tank down to like an 1/8 of a tank and dumped the 3 gallons of denatured alcohol in. went back to the sniffer and put out a 12.04 for hydrocarbons. So just try denatured alcohol it should do the trick.

I had close to the same readings and I had to replace my OEM cats to get my car to pass.
The old cats only had 185K on them.. so I didn't feel that bad about replacing them to pass the emoission test.
Not to say that that is your problem but it's something sooner or later you'll need to address.

I had no cats on my car and i brought my levels down that far with a non emissions cam.
