Sorry for the new thread but I figured anyone who is still looking for the mustang gt and lives in the southern california area should know about a dealer who will sell the car at sticker

I went by cerritos ford saturday just looking around and found out they were sold out of 05's but I could order an 06 at sticker
I think they even said the cobras were going to be sold at sticker too but I'm not sure if that was just for the ones already ordered

Anyways, if you can't get anyone to honor any employee plan you might have (I haven't found one yet) you should try this place out
I can't wait until i get mine, it should be ready about mid september they said

If you're trying to get the employee pricing plan that Ford has started offering recently it's not going to happen on the Mustang...this is from the Ford ads I've seen about that offer.
In regard to other plans (X-Plan for example) it's up to the dealer if they will accept the plans.
Most dealers I've seen have been either marking up the Mustangs close to $5,000 over MSRP or have been selling them AT MSRP...in other words NO PLANS.
But if you keep trying you should be able to find a dealer someplace that will accept plans.

There are a lot of dealers in So Cal that will order you a GT on X-plan, just have to look around. Beverly Hills Ford for one I know will.

I was able to get my 05 Mustang GT at the X-Plan price on 12/28/04 (ordered the car on 10/20 and took delivery on 12/28). That dealership is not accepting plans on the new Mustangs (from what I heard I was lucky to get X-Plan when I got m car).

As to dealers selling the Mustang at MSRP, I've heard that Galpin Ford in the San Fernando Valley is selling Mustangs at sticker, but I also heard that they optional equipment (stripes, wheels, alarms) and that raises the price.

All you can do is keep shopping around and you should find a good deal

Star Ford in Glendale sold me mine at sticker back in March. Great service and they don't install add-ons or yank you around.

Before I ordered my car last October I talked to several dealers about 1)accepting X-Plan and 2)how long from order to delivery.
On the day I ordered the car I had one dealer tell me 'you're not going to get one at X-Plan' and 'even if you order it's going to take a year to get the car since Ford has a large backlog if orders', so I called another dealer (Star Ford) and was told that 'we'll sell you a Mustang at X-Plan, but you have to order the car' and when I told him what the other dealer told me...that it would take a year to get the car...he said 'order today and the car will be here in 6 weeks'. Ordered the car on 10/20 and picked it up on 12/28.

I was lucky to get X-Plan on my car as Star doesn't accept plans currently on the 05 Mustangs...this is from the person I ordered the car from in October and took delivery from in December.

In regard to Star Ford selling Mustangs at MSRP and not adding things to the cars, and their customer service...
I've taken my car in for service a few times (bad Shaker 500, front end popping and an issue with my Service Engine Light coming on) and while at the dealership I've noticed that Mustang GT's have an average markup of $5000, and on the V-6 models I've noticed that Star added things like dash kits and alarms and then marked up the cars to cover those items.

I had the misfortune of buying my car from Galpin. I have had nothing but problems with them. I take the car in for service and it comes back damaged.

They have pissed me off royaly.

Fiesta ford in Indio sold a GT to me at MSRP, and last I heard, they had a white vert GT selling for sticker. Ask for Bryan in the internet department. At the very least, I know he gives good deals on orders too.

Ford of Orange will sell at sticker. Based on experience, I'd stay away from the following dealerships:

Board (Whittier), Ken Grody (Buena Park), McCoy Mills (Fullerton and Anaheim), Sunset (Westminster), Ford West (Bellflower) and Worhtington (Long Beach). IMHO, the two worst are Board and Ken Grody.

I went by ford of orange first and they told me it would be about 33k for the just the base gt with stick
I guess they decided to jump on the bandwagon of mark ups

but ya I agree with you about Ken grody, they screwed over my friends mom when she bought a focus from them

I paid MSRP for a GT Vert back in April at Ford of Orange. They have markups on the sticker but you don't have to pay it.
