a few weeks ago i got a proform electric fan and it solved all of my overheating problems, i was really happy with the way it performed.. but yesterday when i was driving around,i was sitting at a light and the temp started to rise REALLY fast.. i pulled over to see when was wrong and all of my fan blades were broken off.. the fan was still mounted in the exact same place as before, and all of the brackets were still tight.. what could have caused this to happen?? could a crack in one cause that one to break off, and then because it would be off balenced cause the others to break off?? i am completly stumped on this one, i have no idea how every blade(theres like 10) could have broken off.. any thoughts?

Did you happen to be driving in the rain by any chance?

I had my black magic fan blades bust apart on me after driving through a puddle ...a deep one. (Yes,dumb a$$ move on my part..)

Obviously they are not the strongest things on the planet...I'm saying this because,if I remember correctly, the Proform and black magic are virtually identicle......

Anyways, the replacement blade from flex a lite was about $30 from Summit.

Now the BM fan just totally gave out!

I haven't diagnosed why it's not running but....

NOW! I have a Mark VIII sitting here and I'm just waiting for the Bosch relay to come in....

The BM never could cut it once we would get deep into the south Texas summer heat and running air..rest of the year it works great...just not in the 105* + temps....

Good luck man...-Milt

That fan is a piece of junk. Get an OEM fan. One that says ford on it, you will have much better luck with that. Look carefully, there may be fin damage to you radiator. I have read too many threads to ever consider a black trajic or proform :notnice:

well i would get another, better, fan if i had the money.. i didnt even want to get this one but my fan clutch went like a month or so ago and it was all i could afford.. and right now i cant afford another new fan, so im glad to hear that there is a replacement blade that i can buy.. eventually ill go with an sn95 or a markVIII but until then this will have to do.. thanks guys

When I got mine I broke a blade taking it out of the box...doh!!! I shipped it back and got a new one, told them it was broke when I got it. I'd sure check on warranty status, should be at least 30 days. Where'd you get it?

Get a late 80's/earl 90's ford taurus 3.8L electric fan. $30 from a junkyard.. Even on the low setting it outflows a proform significantly and will be 1000x more reliable..
