Hey, I have a '97 GT. My fan motor seized the other day, so the engine overheats very fast. Luckily I don't have to drive it. I was just wondering if there is a good motor to get for a replacement. I know Napa sells fan motors, would one of those work?

I think they come all preassembled. I'm not certain if you can just remove the motor or not. Anyway NAPA will ahve a part number and you can see what comes with it.

Yeah, I haven't tried pulling it apart yet, probably this weekend. Hopefully it will come apart, cause I don't want to spend the $270 Ford quoted me for a new fan assembly. lol

I don't think that you can change just the motor either. I just put in a my 02 motor and I plan on buying a Flex-A-Lite dual fan system. P/N 210 for mine to have the fan control when it comes on and not the computer. Are you sure that the fan is your problem and not one of the temp sensors?

I'm pretty sure, the fan won't move at all, and the motor casing melted. lol Don't know why, I was just going across town, and the temp started shooting up. I got it home after going 2 blocks, lettting it cool down, going 2 blocks... lol

Well, any aftermarket fans that are good and cheap?

Yeah, I finally was able to take it a part today. I found no way to disconnect the motor from the fan, so I'm going to have to get another. I was checking junk yards and found an entire assembly for $100. Would it be worth getting that, or trying to find an aftermarket one? Any suggestions on aftermarket fans?
