I tryed a flex fan and many Electric fans and I still ran hot,, I had a ZIRGO 3300cfm or whatever cfm and a Proform and a few others I still have, THEN I went out and bought a Black magic from Flex O lite and didnt care about the CFM rating. this fan comes with its own shroud and thermo adjustable switch.
Its well worth the extra bucks, my stang now has NO heating problems at all even on the hottest day this year with the blower running 9lbs boost.
I wish I had bought this fan first.
I did have to do some mods though, like moving the rad forward an inch to clear but still worth it.
I use a 17" flex in my '65 with a 4-core and it looks like I would even have room for a bigger fan. pics of your setup? My car runs cool most of the time, but it seems that on really hot days when idling in traffic the temp starts creeping to a point I start to worry, but it drops back down to operating temp when moving.
im not running a stock radiator, i have one from BeCool thats a stock replacment. when im moving the temp is just fine betwen 185-190. but when i sit in stop and go traffic, or when i get off the freeway and have to sit at a light she crawls up to about 205-210. she hasnt gone over that yet, but as soon as i start moving the temp will go back down. the electric i have now is a pusher, and thats all a ran untill a week ago. i never had her go over 200, but i installed different heads and cam so now she runs hotter which i kinda expected.
the 18" flex fan i have is also wider than the radiator, by like half an inch or so on each side.
If your interested I just bought a brand new one from summit. Its 17"
Chromed Flex Fan. I paid $40.00 for it including shipping. I would let it
go for $30.00 including the shipping as long as your in US.
