I just got a dual speed speed fan off a 3.8... I want to wire this to a switch. This switch would have 3 positions, off, low, high. But, when the fan is on the off possition, i plan on fabricating a custom small light to come on in my gauge cluster warning me when it is off... The have the second setting for low, and highest setting for high (would only be used when car needed excessive cooling and rarely used, but nice to have)... Is this poissible to do this setup? Also, what is the safest and correct way to wire this switch and fan, i dont want to do anything half ass. :nice: Thanks guys!

I have mine running off a switch. I turn it on in the city and off on the freeway. I have forgotten to turn it off a few times and it ran for over an hour with the engine off the other day. Didnt kill the batt., but I have a huge one. Run a thermostatic adjustable switch and a toggle as a manual over-ride. Dont get the crappy sensor that goes in the radiator fins, get one that goes into the coolant. I dont see why they dont put coolant sensors on the bottom of the block, like my old Dodge 318. If you run low on coolant and the sensor is up high, you will get a false reading. Say a hose blows?

I am still running a manual set-up, but Its much less than ideal. I want to change it.

im not afraid to spend time on projects, as i try to do them right. well, it would definitly be nice to have it run off the temperature of my car. And have a manual overide, do you guys ever forget you have the fan off? Im afraid one day im just going to go out there and forget to turn it on, and overheat...
