fastbacks rare?

Hey i bought myself a 1967 fastback for 2k. Its all complete and has 69 mach 1 highbacks, 70 boss center console, 67/8 center console.. complete car. Was it a good buy? its been a half year since i bought it and i was wondering if there starting to get rare in especially the state i bought it in (south carolina). Complete yet "rusty" lol.

I would say you got a great deal! '60s fastbacks are more desireable, and bring a higher price, than coupes. The main reason is that most people simply think they look better. Another reason is the demand for 1967 Eleanors. Muscle car shops are buying up fastbacks for future Eleanor conversions.

That and the fact there are more coupes . Contrary to popular belief, from being around when these things were new, most mustangs were bought by the Older crowd, plain jane automatic coupes.

phew good because if i had bought it over priced or something i would be in the whole.. needed floor pans front to back, seat risors, half of the right front frame rail, new cowl (inner and outer), decklid, battery box, radiator and core support, hood, toe boards, and little spots of rust here and there.. BUT now the fronts like new and on to the cowl with a donor 67 coupe's cowl... 135 spot welds JUST on the coupe :bang: took a day with to guys on it.. o well thanks guys

I think your exagerating, I doubt there are more than 132 spotwelds on the cowl :D

if everything is all there, just rusty, then your were not ripped off

i paid 3500 for my beat up 66 fastback. whats 2 grand? thats the cost of a set of heads and fuel system. a fastback is a good investment that will benefit from having high $ body work done

if i had your car id replace the rear deck with a spoiler deck lip (fiber glass) and throw a gt 500 hood in front. then id throw some decent wheels on it. i wouldnt copy hollywood with the all-too-common grey Elanor.

keep your eyes out for a 428 engine, theres an engine with street potential
