as far as i am concerned noone has done that speed unless it was gps verified--speedos are way to inaccurate.

Which is why I said ~145 on the speedo.

I want to get my buddies GPS one day and see how accurate they are.

Absolutely Not true idk with gears and changed speedo gear , but my stock 3.08 GPS verified has a top of 1-2 mph difference on all speeds from 0-120 mph verified , idk anything beyond that i dont have high speed rated tires to do more, but this cars have the most acurate speedo i have ever seen on a car.

then you sir have 1 freak of a speedo.

i have personally seen speedos on $100k+ cars be off as much as 10% at 80mph--it gets worse the higher it goes. bmw even states that a 15% difference is normal and there is nothing to fix that.

its either escort or passport that sells a radar detector that shows your speed via gps on the unit---it is awsome, i highly suggest one if for nothing else than to have your speed in digital form at eye level.

Yep. when tires get worn down, that will throw the speedo off. The slightest change will throw it off.

not to mention that the faster you go the more the tires grow in size.

I've had mine at about 125 on the freeway. It had plenty left but i won't take it higher than that on public roads with our crappy stock brakes. With 3.08s or 2.73's i think you could hit 175+ if you had the power, i barely break 2k rpm going ~85.

just cause you have the gearing to go 175 i dont think its possible with our suspensions, we would float right off the road

I hear ya. However, just because a car is $100+k does not mean the spedo is going to be more correct than any other car. Last time I got pulled over by the copper in my 5 series, he was dead on accurate, lol.

To the person that said he was able to do 155..was that with the mods in yur sig? (closed course of course!!)

Actually, I think that is an A-36 Apache. North American's first attempt at the Mustang, but with the Allison engine, its high altitude performance was lackluster. Therefore it was used mainly as a ground attack aircraft. It wasn't until the Rolls Royce Merlin engine that the aircraft was designated the P-51B and it became an excellent fighter.

Edit: Upon further research, that aircraft has british markings in which case they referred to it as the Mustang Mk I as the Americans called it the A-36A. You were right.
