Hey Folks, I have a question on oil pressure guages. When I start my car the pressure goes to about mid guage, but will never change. Idle or 3000 rpm's. I've had TWO different new sending units on it and it does the same thing. If the guage was pooched I don't think it would go half way and stop.
What could be causing this?

If its a stock gauge, thats all it will do. Its only there to tell you some pressure exists. Its like an idiot needle (instead of a light).

If you want accurate readings (including all the variations), then you must get an aftermarket gauge.

You're kidding me, right? What a dumb set up! My 66 had a working gauge, so I just figued they'd continue on in later years.. How lame

BTW Thanks for the info.

You think a 66 sending unit would work with a 68 gauge?

Nope, they're the same unit. Stick a 66 gauge in there. LOL
