I have the following problem with a 390 FE ford engine; my intake manifold is 2.5 mm too small between the gaskets compared to normal size of the intake.
question, is there a thicker gasket for?
waiting for your reaction

Can't be, it's American Iron, must be 1/10 of an inch. ,,,If it has a thick cork valley gasket it will seem small until you start to tighten it. Did the intake come with that engine? Been a while since I screwed around with matching FE manifolds, but most of them are the same, there are a few exceptions like the 427 as the heads are different.

the new 8v I have is 27.85 cm and the inlet I want to mount is 27.55 cm, the difference of 3 mm has to be solved.
I also cut 3 mm cork instead of 5 mm cork but do not know if that is enough.
the intake does not seem to be processed but is 40 years old , the question is are thicker gaskets ?

did you actually place the intake on the valley to measure the difference? In your picture, your caliper is not at the point it should be at to measure the width.
Just asking.

What intake are you going to use ? One of the new aluminum intakes i bought was 130 thousands to wide ,it wasnt machined correctly ,and i had to have it shaved ,it is possible your intake was the same way only to much removed
