Feelin' the Heat!

while driving, i feel and actually see the heat from the engine. what can i do to eliminate this? i live in Miami, so this is very important! i have Extreme DynaMat on the floors and roof.

If you have holes in the firewall

seal the engine bay where no air can enter the inside of the car, exhaust gases can kill ya. I had a small exhaust leak on my 6 cyl, and just a few small holes in the firewall, it would flood the inside of the car with fumes and give you a headache in minutes.

Why do you want to trap heat in there? You want it out. Cool air is good for the engine.

Where do you see heat?

I think he means seal all the holes that could lead into the cabin. Like where the clutch rod passes through, steering, wires, ect. Having any holes that can lead into the cabin is dangerous for gases, as well as fires.

i see and feel the heat from the engine inside the car. Miami is hot already, so i don't want anymore. i plan on getting AC, so this would a good time to remove the heater system and any leaks in the firewall.

i also plan to get a carbon-kev GT350 hood scoop to be installed on my steel hood and a R-model apron. this would cut down on the heat.

Make sure you do not have any heat coming through your heater box.
