have a 347 shortblock in the garage, fully forged. should be around 10.5:1 comression with my heads, heads are cnc ported/polished twisted wedge heads. looking to change to a custom cam after i get the heads flowbenched. upgrading from 24lb injectors to 42, overkill i know. but oh well.

anyways, do you think my 190lph fuel pump is enough? or should i buy a 255?

now, im going to get new headers. mine are rusted beyond belief and are garbage.
what size header should i get? 1 3/4" ... 1 5/8"?
the rest of my exhaust is flowmaster 2.5" catback, and im thinking about getting a mac prochamber to replace the crappy custom made X pipe in there. the 3 bolt flange from the header to xpipe leaks constantly. could never make it seal right.

Also, im getting a miloden 7 quart oil pan, that kicks out. so i need headers that will clear that without a hammer

Anyways, let me hear your opinions on fuel pumps, and longtube headers

Thanks
Derek

I'd go with the 255 pump. Definately 13/4" longtubes with 3" exhaust, and a Canton 7qt pan without a kickout. Kicked out pans can be a pain with longtubes. I've always stayed away from them.

190 will be fine, and I would go with 1 3/4 headers although I do not know which headers will 'kick out' for you, good luck!

You don't need 3 inch exhaust.

I listened to your 'advisor' on getting my injector size and I now regret it. I did not need that big of an injector. If you can get a dyno tune/chip you'll be just fine though with 42's, it is something I would not do because they flow much more than the air you can pull in.

Absolutly

42's will be fine with those parts.

now does 2.5" flange mean 2.5" catback?
i thought the flange had to be a little bigger... ie. 3" flange = 2.5" catback

i do have a tweecer and laptop, and wideband and im going to have it tuned.
so 42s should rock. i hope

If you get it tuned it will be fine. That is key.

I have seen some catbacks with a 2.5" flange with a 2.25" piping...but I'm not sure if that applies to your catback your looking at getting.
