few questions on repairs to a car.

hey everyone after looking at that 93 it has a few issues. most notably is the fact that the driver side door lock doesnt work.

and the fact that neither of the power door locks work.

and the car has a rear seat delete kit....and i need the back seat for a little bit and he has all the gear besides the rear seat brackets how much are those?

so to put it simple. how much would it cost to fix the doors and seat? doing it myself....

need more info for locks. if the knob does not work on the one side, the actuator is likely frozen.

dont know about rear seats. good luck.

thats what i think it is. when you enter the key to lock the door it wont turn all the way.

how much is an acutator?

and how about making the power locks work again? i plan on installing an alarm should i do it then?...

cost of an acuator?

you can get actuators for like 40 dollars.

it would be a good time to fix them when installing an alarm if you want keyless entry.

so the 4 actuators will fix the power lock problem? the car at one point had working power door locks so it should have all the wires correct?

by keyless entry...you mean hit the button and it unlocks/locks right?

88SC is right. i would add that one can retrofit 4 dollar actuators with a little bit of fabrication. if interested, see Jrichker's page on SN. he has a very very detailed article on doing the retrofit. worked great for me.

it does sound like the one actuator is frozen. no huge biggie. you might have electrical gremlins for the rest of it though - that could take some sorting. but if you are good with the stuff (do your own keyless entry installs, etc) then it should be no biggie. one can get at the lock harness plugs at the top of the driver kick panel.
