Congrats on the new job! What had you been doing before this?

My Dad owns a business that does land conservation type work. So I work for him. Basically we build dams, lakes, install huge drainage lines, clear areas for farming or subdivisions...etc. It is usually work for farmers since I live in IL(about all there is here). The federal government pays for most of work through farming programs, so the money is good, but it is a dirty nasty job. Plus, life is central IL could not be more boring. There are less than 250,000 people within 50 miles of me.

So what made you decide to go with Florida when you live in IL? No matter what it takes you always make it home when the shift is over.

I wonder how common the out of state applying is? At my last two tests I met people from CA, NM, NV, and even NY. Now that's a long flight just to take a test (albeit a six hour one).

Yea when I was in FL for the first tests there were people from NY, NJ, and AZ there. One guy from NJ had been charged with multiple drug offenses when he was 17 or 18. I could almost hear the toliet flushing with his money going down it.
