I got a chance to pick up a 89 FI motor for real cheap but it comes with no harness, and it just so happens that the harness in my 93 notch is pretty hacked up. It would be way easier to just get a carbed motor than to swap everything over, not to mention the killer deal i'm getting on the FI.

My questions involve how to convert an FI motor over to a carb. I think it would just be the intake manifold but I'm not sure if I need to do anything to the heads. If you could please clear up some uncertainties it would be greatly appreciated.

Also if you have any suggestions on what would work best with my setup. It's a 93 notch, 5 speed, not sure what rear end gear, but the motor i'm getting is a stock HO. I am just wondering what intake and carb setup would work best with this because I just want to get her on the road!!

Thanks for all your help. :flag:

Depending on what you want to do with it will depend on the carb set up. if you want more of a track car then go with a carb that will match your cam specs, i recommend an AED Holley carb, its a Holley carb that has been CNC ported and a few other things done, aedperformance.com, and for the track for the higher rpms go with a Victor Jr intake. If you want a street car go with the RPM or the Air gap dual plane and an AED carb.

I would imagine that you will have to put a different fuel pump in as well. The FI fuel pumps run a lot higher pressures than a carb can handle. They would blow the gaskets out of the carb. I personally haven't ever gone FI to carb but this something I would think would need to be changed
