What do u guys think? I know people like urethane for the front and sideskirts since they tend to bump into a lot of things, but how about a rear bumper?

Remember, those front bumpers hit something! Often it will be some other cars rear bumper.

I've never personally hit or had my rear bumper hit. Well minus my accident but no bumper would have survived!

On the other hand you hit the front all the time on ramps/parking/curbs and the skirts....but the tail pipes take the hit before a rear bumper. Atleast in my experience.

I can find guys who regret getting fiberglass front bumpers and skirts....but I come up empty for rear bumper examples.

If I get hit from behind chances are the material won't matter. :dunno:

I would say no to a fiberglass rear bumper. That's what I have and I hate it. In the winter it will tighten up and leave a 1/4 inch gap on the panels, and during the summer it will expand and leave about a 1/4 inch gap outwards from the panels. Not sure if it's just from the manufacture that mine does that, but I hate it.

Yeah bumper to panel. I can't recall where I got it from, I know it was rather cheap on the net. I think it was the one from ebay. I ended up getting 3 since I wasn't decided whether or not I wanted a painted one, primered one or clean one. Should have kept one of the two I sent back since a week later I backed into a pole and scratched it up pretty bad.

My rear bumper got whacked quite severely this past month. No damage other than fracturing the paint. Cost to repaint the corner about $400.

I fell ya on that one. My quote was around $850 since some of the scratches have to be filled in with fiberglass and that's not cheap.
