Well, I've been lurking around here for quite a while but I've never posted any real information about my project. I bought a GT/CS about 10 years back and I recently started in on rebuilding it. The engine isn't original so I'm not going for "as built", but I do want it to "look stock".
Anyway, on with the pics
The exterior is in pretty good condition, and I even have the Lucas fog lights.
The engine is a 289 out of a '66 Fairlane, it will get pulled and warmed up a bit. I'm thinking 331 with some nice heads, nothing too extreme. I'll probably pull the engine next weekend or the one after that before the car goes off to the body shop.
There are a couple leaks
Here's the interior after I pulled the seats, carpet, and most of the insulation:
passenger footwell
passenger rear seat and footwell
driver's side footwell
I spent a good chunk of this weekend in the garage with an angle grinder, wire brush, and shop vac. The rust wasn't quite as bad as it looked, mostly surface pitting with only a few holes.
