i called chicane today to ask a questions about my car and they had a message saying that they are filming a show called OverHauling for TLC there. so that must mean they are going to work on a Saleen? or some kind of mustang. i dunno if you guys know wht overhauling is, but they take someones car somehow (like say it was stolen) and then they usually have Chip Foose come and they make it a real nice car. its on Tuesdays at i think 8 or 9 pacific time on TLC.

Sorry guys. No Saleen "overhaulin over there" Just a 65 Fastback with an insane crate motor. Chicane is closed for business but will open up early next week after Joe catches up on some sleep. Believe it or not they really work just about 24 hours a day for 7 dyas to get the project complete.
As tempting as it is if you head over you wont see much. The episode will be insane though. Should aire in a few months.

Well when it comes to mustangs new or old everyone in Los Angeles knows that Chicane is one of the best shops around that actually stays busy. Joe is on the build team and you will see him on the show. There is also Edelbrock involvement as well. Edelbrock is just a couple of miles away in Torrance and Chip likes to be able to stay close to home and his shop is in Huntington Beach. Chicane is also big enough to host the show. They came to him. As far as what kind of vehicle gets "Overhauled" most of the decision lies with Chip.

well is this show real you think? where they take someone car and just say its been stolen and stuff like trick them? if chip chooses the car it will most likly be an older mustang like you said. the only new car he has worked on (or that i know of) was that new T-Bird when it came out they made it like a hot road and stuff i dunno if you know what im talking about. how do you know all this stuff Marcus? you work and chicane or something?

That 2003 T-bird was being prepared for an auto show, not "Overhauling" by Foose. The show, however, is awesome and they really do "Repo" or "Steal" someone's neglected or much loved vehicle.

Joe at Chicane is a friend. He (Joe) is building a motor for me at the moment so I have been by the shop often lately. I thought the show ( re-building an entire car ) in seven days was :bs: also until I had a chance to see some of it first hand. You should have seen the HUGE pile of "Year One" resto parts for the car that was dropped off at the shop last week before filming. I was really jealous and I don't even own an old mustang yet.
Also, It's not that they actually steal someones car for those that have not seen the show before. Usually it's a close friend or family member that tricks the "owner" of the car into believing that it has been towed, stolen or misplaced while Chip's selected crew works out the car. It is site to see.
I hope that clears things up.

That darn show.

I was set to get some paint work done by a shop here in Huntington Beach before a show but the they were tied up for a week doing Overhaulin’, too.

The show is good for the local talent around here like Lanzini (paint), Stitchcraft (interior) and Winner’s Circle (detailing). I think someone behind Mother’s car care products conceptualized or produces the show.
Too bad, I don’t get TLC. Interested to see what Chicane does with the car. Good for them. :nice:

Tha's too bad you don't get TLC. The car that was built at Chicane ended up being a blue fastback with white stripes. Some car. Head Paneer, we will have to record it and get you a copy.

Cool. Maybe we can hook up at the Saleen show.
I cheap-out on TV service, just subscribing to "broadcast" cable. I watch too much as it is.
