Finally sat in an 05 Stang

my lord, i cant wait till i get mine. they looks sooooo fine. if you sat in it how did it feel? im worried i wont like the feel of the car. the stick position worries me also......

You know I had many opinions after seeing the pics about all aspects of the 05. I never liked the interior in the pics. I saw it today and the one thing that changed 180 degrees is my view on the inside. When you sit in it, WOW. The seats are finally WORLD CLASS. It feels tight. I made Mr. Ford start it. It is not as loud at idle as 04's but still a nice sound when accelerating. 17 inch mags and tires don't look to good. They're 235's. 18's will be optional here in Canada.

i prefer the scoopless look, like a fox, but thats just my opinion. like that comp orange, but i ordered a redfire like my current GT, but they said i can still change it, but i will get the car much later. thanks for those pics man! whats with the "shaker" stereo? anyone know the specs on that, im pretty sure i got one that was a shaker 500, is that the wattage? thanks

the interior looks amazing

The outside however just doesn't float my boat  Maybe in a couple years when they've refined it a little more, maybe added a couple scoops or something.

I feel the opposite. The interior is a bit busy/glitsy for my tastes--I'd definitely want it without the aluminum package or whatever it's called. I think the understated exterior looks great--not a big fan of fake scoops. Just goes to prove you can't please everyone....

By the way, great photos--thanks for posting those. :nice:

Its the wheels. Equipped with 18"s the car looks much better. 17" are just too small for the car and those wheels aren't nearly wide enough for the body.

great pictures :nice:

one thing i like about this new mustang is its potential. as far as the looks, i can already imagine it lowered a bit on 18's with some fat tires out back (275's at least) nicer exhaust tips that fill in the cutouts (double wall slp-style or rolled) and functional scoops in the hood (single, dual or cowl)

the interior is pretty much perfect imo, the gauges look good, but i wish the tach was bigger. it looks too small just taking up half a circle. i also hope this car gets a teloscopic steering wheel. that would be nice.

Speaking of functional scoops in the hood, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the new layout of the throttle body. It's facing the perfect direction for a true "Ram Air" :nice: .

How the hell do you grip the steering wheel?? Those bars are to wide and deep to grab it at 10 and 2 or 9 and 3. You would have to grab above it at 11 and 1, not cool. Im a road coarse guy. And at local track days this wheel looks horrible. I also think it needs bigger wheels and a lip/spoiler on the bottom of the front end. I think a Silver one with wider 18 inch wheels, a carbon fiber hood with at least one scoop, a front spoiler, 1" lower and clear turn signals would look very racey and awesome. Sorta like the GT-r

Also the spoiler doesnt seem to fit that car.

IMHO, the dash looks a bit too Pinto-ish or Maverick-ish for me. Maybe one needs to be old enough to remember the Pinto and Maverick to notice it. Retro and cheap/old-fashion are two very different things, and it looks like the dash is the latter.
