the compression will hold it back a little, but that thing is going to freaking scream. my guess:

385 horses at the wheels, 410 torque around 4500 rpm

i hope you have 42# injectors. you are gonna need them.

I am guessing right at 400 on a dyno jet.
 
understood, but as i'm sure you know, 9.7:1 is still pretty low for a high performance naturally aspirated engine.

venom, are you planning on boosting it, trying to keep fuel costs down by being able to (maybe) run low octane gas, or something else?
 
Not happening today, heads have to come off and the head gaskets replaced. They are leaking oil. POS MR Gasket's....I knew I should have gone with felpro but Ed told me to go with that set thats on there now. Maybe it will get done next week I'm not sure yet. Already over budget as it is b/c they could not use that Mac Prochamber b/c it interfered to much with the drive shaft saftey loop, it was pushing the entire exhaust system into the ground so they fabbed up a 3" H pipe. This is getting expensive quick......​
Its going to pull way beyond 4,500. The heads flow a lot of air at the top end, the cam is built for top end the valve train will handle 6,500 RPM easy.​
 
oh yeah, as i said in my first post, "that thing is going to freaking scream"

but my guess is that the max torque will be around 410 at 4500 rpm

my other guess is that the max horsepower will be at ~385 at about 5500 rpm

you wanted guesses, right?
 
please believe me when i say i hope you are right! :cheers:

my only reservations are that it is 351 cubes and the compression, while higher than stock, is lower than most engines that are built for high NA performance. :shrug:

those 2 things might hold it back a little.

The compression has always been an issue, higher now then it was but still lower then Id like it but pulling out the engine and replacing the pistons was never really in the plans. Pretty much just trying to make it as fast as possible with the stock bottom end. We will see soon enough though, just to bad its going take longer then what I originally thought.
 
I had trouble getting a traditional style driveshaft safety loop to fit with my ProChamber. The idea of swapping out the exhaust to fit the loop is unconscionably stupid. That's like getting a divorce because you don't like the smell of your wife's perfume. The driveshaft loop should have been removed, not the exhaust. I had to run a BMR loop I think. It was like $65, much cheaper than a new exhaust.

I made numbers in that arena with 30lb injectors. You might be pushing into 36s, but 42s are too big.

9.7:1 compression is not that low. Most street cars are usually in the 10:1 area, but static compression is not that important. The cam should be set up to readjust the dynamic compression while maximizing the flow of the heads. If anything, the problem would be the pistons that didn't have enough valve clearance to allow for an optimum valve lift.

The problem with that loop is that it does not go up inside the tranny tunnel. They make them that are year specific but this one is just a generic one. Would have cost me just as much for them to remove the interior and get a new loop and install it. Not sure if I'll be able to sell that prochamber now or not since its a 3" thats been necked down to a 2.5 at the end but I'll throw it up for sale on a few sites once I get it back.
 
I have one of those one piece loops that fits up into the tranny tunnel. I would get one of those, and replace it, and put the ProChamber back on. I figured you had one of those multi-piece generic loops where you could remove the loop and leave the brackets. I know those are real popular. I also made stud plates when I put my loop in, so that I could remove the loop without pulling up the carpet. Little things like that make a big difference later on. When you get a high hp engine, you really have to set things up to be worked on later, because breaking things is an inevitability.

At the time I made the stud plates, I didn't have a welder, or I would have just welded the bolts to the floor inside the car.

Car is being torn back down and the head gaskets replaced. I'm having them do it. Not going to pay for a tow 2.5 hrs back here and then worry if something else might go wrong by the time I get it back there. Its almost aug Im running out of summer.
