Well the deadline of the starting was today , and it was a little late but i decided to go on, so after prime the pump it started no hesitation , no nothing everything went so perfect that was hard to believe, the tweecer was pure gold on the first start, idled exactly at 1500 then lowered to 800rpm as programmed, I couldn’t log the first startup since i was like crazy checking any leak or any thing that could indicate something bad, after the first 4 mins like a crazy man with a lamp checking the engine everywhere, i calmed a little and waited to temp go stable, then turned of , checking leaks again, then the 2nd start , the lifters were still a little bit noisy but they where calmed after a few mins more and a little rev up to 2k, i started to log with the tweecer and the karmfs started to move a little as time passed idling, well the only problem i found is that the aero motive fpr never reached the 39 lbs of pressure , i started to move it but i cant get the 39 psi , the most i could reach was like 34 psi, so the tweecer started to show that the karmfs would go up to 1.250 i guess is the damm fpr , well its 12:45am and the neighborhoods were not pleased with the concert so I stopped after like 15 mins of idling and revving no more than 2500. i will start tomorrow to see what is happening with the fpr and log again.

Long post as always but I would like to really thanks all the :SNSign: for all the help , posting on my threads and the old posts on all the h/c/i process really thanks to all of you b/c without any of you I could not get this done.

:SNSign: :SNSign:

I will update tomorrow with more time

How do you like the lunati cam? I have that same cam too. It has a nice lump. I ask because I don't see many, if any, peeps here with a lunati cam. Kind of had me worried at first 'till I spoke with an engine builder who said they were good cams.

Well its a nice and a little bit slopey, but its a nice cam 51014 , nice low end up to 6000 rpm aprox, i would like to say that is nice for a semi-stock 302,

Well its a nice startup , and now i am posting from a 200 miles and no probs at all.

I know you just got it fired for the first time

You're gonna see a huge difference in how it idles and behaves in Closed Loop in the current state of tune and what you get after you dial in stuff like:

injector timing
injector slopes
maf curve
idle air flow
yada yada yada

I know your pumped ... Congrats on the first fire up

I know that my engine bay is not like as clean as many users here , but i was on a deadline due this mustang event, i will work on this from now on , there are much details i have to work on, on the front there is a little oil leak from the intake cork gasket , and there are some overheating issues now, i think the thermostat is stuck or something like that because after i put the engine on the 10 degree stock timming the temps raised on city driving up to the M-A on the stock gauge , and on freeway they will lower to R not hammering it, so for me that is too much, i will try thermostat and keep updating this! :SNSign:

It is not uncommon to see higher temps after h/c/i upgrade

You are now making more power

More heat is a by-product of more power

True that. Mine was hot as hell (upward of 230* or higher ) and I was not comfortable wit those temps. I thought it was the TS, then thought maybe I did not burp the system correctly - even though I've done it many times. I read my Ford service manual and realized the HS fan does not kick on until the upper 220s and only stays on a very short time. Couple that with the HCI = hoooootttttt!!

The solution was a TwEECer . I adjusted the fans and now I am "COOL"with it . Note: they have other devices out there to adjust fan settings.

Well i already tried that trick on the tweecer , but the prob. is that the fan is on ALWAYS on low speed!! i dont want it to caught fire or something , also this will end with the new bat, and probably the alt. on the future, i am looking for a solution , but i had work on the last days so i will work on this on the weekend or before if i can.

What thermostat are you running that allows the LS fan stay on constantly? I don't have that problem with my 180* stat. Also, let me know what temperature you have the HS and LS on for comparison - just curious.

The current thermostat is a 180 , but i think is stuck or something, also this thermostat dosnt have the emergency "hole" that the oems have in case it gets stuck , i bought another 180 and also dosnt have that hole , i will have to drill one and test the new one, as soon i have a little time i will see whats the prob. meanwhile i am working on a j4j1 new calibration according to my inj. and all that stuff , the tweecer settings are the following:

fan_high_speed_ECT1_on : 208
fan_high_speed_ECT1_on : 212
fan_high_speed_ECT1_off : 204
fan_low_speed_ECT_off : 196
fan_low_speed_ECT_on : 198

I changed to this values since the low speed fan was on all the time but it was arround 182 low speed off , and 186 for on @ low speed

My low speed on is 182 and off 180. Maybe keeping it about 2* different between on and off will keep it from running all the time.

I forget what I did to my values but the fan cycles back and forth even in hot Texas summers.

btw ... I got a Fluidyne rad and Stewart wp which helps

You can look on my site and see my file changes compared to an orginal j4j1 file by using the download link if you think it might help you any

One last thing ......................

I use the older 1.20 Version of CalEdit so you will not be compatable to load my current cal file.

The link is simple jpeg files made from screen shots showing both cal files next to each other.

This means no special software is needed to view the comparison

Well i kinda worked a little this morning and i found some things interesting :

First of all the stock gauge is always between the O and R, but on the tweecer my ect shows something between 198 and 204 idling , so i think is not that bad, then i started my AC and reved the engine to 3500 and stay there until i see some temps go up. the stock gauge was on the A but the ECT showed on tweecer max 221 stable on 220 i know this is kinda hot but i was on panic last night thinking that i had a blown hg but i checked oil and no bubbles on the rad, and i think after a 312.5 miles trip , and absolutely no disapearing any antifreeze i think i was only on panic but its all fine

Second: the low speed fan seems never to kick because the fan starts at 204 and then lowers to 198 and shut off and it goes always like this on idle but i can see any vent moving earlier nor any low speed i always see it work at full speed, so i think my low speed is burned or something

So question , how do you know when is on High speed or low speed , and i mean on the speed of the fan not on tweecer i have readings on the status

Also i am kinda confused on calcon where is the fan on , when is green or off, because is like random on and off but then there is no vent moving

i will check the fan conector today on the afternoon, and i will see if the low speed failure is the fan or there is no voltage comming from the cable ( i hope is the fan and not the CCRM )

Yup really thanks grady , i have to admit that many changes on my tune right now are based on your config , i havent yet messed with timing and afr since i dont have a wideband, and the timing is all upped global by 1 degree, nice site of you , i want to make a site on the next days with all the info i have gathered on the tweecer, to make things easier to the next newbies ( not that i am an expert in any ways ) with info on the scalars and all the things that respresent a change , i will work on that on the next days.

I will do this not because anything else , but information on the tweecer , i know is better to read and learn with all the process of reading all the forums on this matter, and i know it will generate a little discussion and angry on all of the people that had things harder , but also as a center of information for all of us that need handy information upon any emergency or whatever it will be useful , i hope i can count on many of you in a active or passive way posting updates and using some info on your own sites ( if any dosnt bother on that ) of course with all their quotes of information.
