I finally finished my 5 lug conversion. Had a few problems along the way (needing a new tie rod, bad ball joints, etc.), but its finally done. It has 4 wheel disc brakes, cobra brakes up front. The wheels are 18 inch gunmetal cobras. Also added some FMS C Springs for a drop. Now I just need some paint.

Before - All stock brakes with 16 inch AR wheels

Looks real good man, now all you gotta do is put the wheel weights on the inside of the wheel.

What axles did you use and what bracket? Also, are you using the moan braces?

Looks good! I'm half way done .

Nice! Exact same wheels as I had on my 5.0 when I had it.

+1 on the tapeweights. Externals suck on aftermarket wheels.

Looks great!!! I can't wait to do my disc swap.

What Master Cylinder did you use? That is the only part I still haven't decided on.

Someone at the tire shop needs to be fired, that is not something you "should" have to tell them...but if you dont this can happen!! (Just about) everyone knows its better to use stick on weights....

Thanks for the compliments. I will look into the weights issue. I bought the wheels off someone else so they came like that. I need to get new tires soon so i'll make sure to tell them that.

black87ttop: I am up in North NJ, morris county. That pic is off Rt 80 right by the Delaware water gap.

gruvee87vertgt: Thanks man. Yeah, it was exactly as you said. How was that 5 speed swap? That might be my next project.

I'll also post on the wheel sticky and work on getting more/bigger pics.

I used the ranger axles and I modified/cut the stock sn95 caliper bracket like in this thread http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=446998
(not sure if it's legal to post corral links )

I didn't really want to spend $140 or so on northracecars brackets, and I am glad I didn't. This method worked out great. I haven't run into any problems yet and neither has anyone else in that thread.

I left off the anti moan braces because I don't have access to a welder like the guy in that thread. But as for now it is doing fine without them.

Good luck finishing up your project. It is worth it.

I used the M/C from a 94-95 GT. I bought it with the brake booster on ebay. This is the reason it took so long. I got the whole car together and started it up for the first time and there was a hissing sound from under the dash. It was the booster leaking. Had to take apart everything after like an hour of wrestling that booster in there. I just bought a new one from advance auto and put that in instead of dealing with used parts because I don't want to take that booster out again anytime soon.

So if anyone is doing this soon, hook up the booster to the vacuum line first and start your car to see if it is leaking at all. It will save you a lot of time and trouble.

Looks good, toss some paint on the centers of the rotors so you don't see rust like that
