just finished installing my CAI. I was wondering 2 things. Do you have to plug up the extra hole with the rubber around it on the straight tube or does that stay like it is? i provided a pic of what im talking about i circled it in red. Also do you HAVE to put the metal from the old intake into the new one?

hope u can help thank you

i think that black plug is supposed to be plugged with a small cluster that barely fits and reads the airflow through the intake. ( you have to mash it in there.

silver, plug that up. There is only one inlet tube that can be used on a 2003 V6, and it is the PCV system I'm pretty sure, and with that, the inlet is on the bottom of the Polished tube, it can be a biotch to get to, but put it in, leaving it out will only lead to engine damage.

Edit: plug that one on top, not the one on bottom, put the PCV tube in the bottom whole....hopefully theres one there.

You definatly want to plug it, or you car will not run right! You can probably find something to plug it with at Home Depot.

DAMNIT! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY POST!?!?!?!?!?!?!????

Anyway this is what I had written.
<hr>
Dude, I had that problem when I got mine. I took some duct tape and wrote Type R on it with a black sharpie and ran the tests on it. It added 4 HP to plug that hole up! But then I realized...WAIT! I tore that duct tape off and put on RED, and made a black outline of the R on it, that added just over 3 hp MORE than the other! Then I thought and thought, and I realized how stupid I was! IF THE LITTLE PIECE OF RED DUCT TAPE COULD GIVE ME THAT MUCH POWER, JUST THINK OF HOW MUCH IT WOULD ADD IF IT WAS FULLY COVERED IN RED!!!!! I ripped it off and wrapped it in red and tested it again. 20 EXTRA HORSEPOWER FROM WHEN I JUST HAD THE RED SMALL PIECE ON IT!!!! THAT GAVE ME AN ADDED 43 HORSEPOWER FROM STOCK!!!!

lol...seriously now

That PCV sensor is built into your MAF now. Either cover it up with a piece of tape or put a ricer filter in there small breather filter). If you choose to tape it, take the black plug out. You don't want any trash getting in there, it'll go right to your chambers.

dude.. that post is so gay thats probably why it was taken down. First of all i have no knowledge about the CAI so how was i suppose to know if it should be covered or not. second of all what were you doing sitting at your computer thinking of something to say and came up with that stupid story. when i read what you posted u sounded like the biggest idiot. so next time dont post stupid things like that because it just takes up space and time.

Calm down noob. He wasn't being offensive. He gave you helpful tips. The first part was supposed to be funny, he was making fun of ricers.
