Finished car only to have more problems

finished the car finially tonight had some issues with the timing got that figured out with some help got it started and the belt was whining really bad and the car was smoking I figured it was coming from the hole in my headder where the egr pipe hooks up my dad and brother in law were looking around and started saying shut it off so i did and looked to see for myself here the smog pump froze and the belt ate the pulley in half seriously half my pulley is gone it like burnt it away none of us have ever seen anything like that before so now i need a smog pump

SO ANYBODY THAT DID A ELIMINATION AND STILL HAS ONE AND WANTS TO GET RID OF IT LET ME KNOW

since you've hollowed out your cats, what use does the smog pump serve now?

I'de say dont bother with it, just pull the thing, and get a new shorter belt, to bypass it. Thats what most do, that dont have smog testing and such.
