You can adjust the "pull" on the cable with that unit. It allows a greater range of adjustment for your cable than the stock unit and actually holds unlike the stock POS. It basically shortens or lengthens the effective length of the cable so there will always be a set engagement of the pedal. I wouldn't recommend engaging too much or you'll reduce your clutches effectiveness and wear out the throw out bearing prematurely.

If this is what you mean by "throw" you cannot chabge the height of the pedal or how far it moves. You can only adjust the tension so that there is no slack in the movement.

Once I installed mine several years ago, I only had to adjust it a couple of times after the cable did it's initial stretch. It worked fine until the cable gave out a couple of months ago. My new one I just adjusted it once I got the car home, and it is still working fine. You might need to adjust it if the cable is not quite disengaging the clutch enough to put it in reverse without putting it in first gear first. That is a typical symptom of a clutch not fully releasing on my car. Then it is time to adjust it a couple of turns and try it again.
