The cylinders on the pass side are numbered 1-2-3-4. The driver's side cylinders are 5-6-7-8. The firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. #1 on the distributor cap is in the 1' o-clock position if you are looking at the distributor from the front of the car. the distributor rotor rotates counter clockwise.

I know he has a ho motor but i thought i would just say that a firing order for a HO motor and a non HO motor is different.

He is right except for one thing. The #1 spark plug on the distributor is at 11 o'clock
