so i finally got out to my local track last night to do a couple passes
first r/t .696 60' 2.317 1/4 mile 14.46 @98.95 mph
second r/t .653 60' 2.317 1/4 mile 14.238 @99.4 mph
third r/t .274 60' 2.195 1/4 mile 14.051 @99.38

first run i was so concerned with having my track off it hit it again just before my pass turning it back on
second i tried no burnout as a didnt think my tires would benefit much span all through first and half way through second bad r/t as sun was right in my eyes
third run did a bit of a burnout helped traction alot i span a bit on launch and a little going into second but my shifts wernt the best.

so now im addicted and i think ill be gettin out almost every weekend, wanted to know what everyone thinks of my times i have a 2001 gt with bbk cold air intake bbk o/r x pipe and magnaflow cat back with a predator tuner on 91 octane. my goal was to break into 13 seconds as i know my car could do it but it would be a bit of a challenge for me. whats a good r/t and 60' to shoot for and what do you guys think my car can run? next week ill do a better burnout my r/t should be much better so im pretty confident i can do it.

Reaction time has nothing to do with your et. but those are not that bad of runs considering the heat. With practice and a good 60ft you should have 13s.

Dont worry about the r/t it does not affect your ET, you have a nice MPH and should be in the 13's with no problem, just get that 60' down and your good to go !

Hey OP, you wanna shock yourself?

Get some drag radials (you could put some on a set of cheap wheels if you don't want to spend big $$$ on wheels right now) for the track. Do that, and put in some 4.10 gears. Next time you go to the track with those 2 mods, you will be running as much as a half second quicker!

15x8 or 15x10 wheels with 26x10 inch slicks will do the trick. Look into upgrading you axles soon after you buy the slicks

do you think hard launching with this power could cause a problem? I plan to sell this at the end of summer and buy a cobra next year so i dont really want to put more money into it

I have seen near stock car snap an axle with drag radial so yes, launching off the limiter on slicks will eventually cause axle failure
