Season opener and the first of 5 races at PR .

Gates open at 4 PM, racing begins at 5 PM.

PR usually gives CCC racers priority on passes until competition begins. Sign up at the CCC Awning. We will probably locate the tent (awning) on the pit side of the staging lanes near the arcade. CCC is a great value at only $5. for the entire season.

John:

Unfortunately I will be out of town on Friday so I cannot make it... The car is officially running now... I took it to the SVTOA show this weekend... It is still somewhat in project stage as I have not completed the interior rear hatch yet... I will have that finished up this week, along with windown tinting, and then I will be taking it down to Horsepower Ranch on Saturday for some dyno tuning time... After that -- it is ready for the track... I just ordered up a new set of MT Street ET's that I will have mounted...

The last thing scheduled is to have my hood/wing painted to match the stock Emerald Green... That will happen in May... Then I will drive/show/drag all summer long and then it is off for a complete paint overhaul... Over the winter I also plan to put in the Florida 5.0 gauge cluster and plumb for nitrous...

Your 10.98 has me totally stoked... I was hoping for mid-11's, but now you have given me hope that I might actually hit low-11's... Was that at Bremerton?

Good luck on Friday...

It was at PR. I've made only 4 passes with the C4, and the auto was the difference maker between last year's times and current performance. The 10.98 pass wasn't even a good pass, as I started in D2, so the thing shifted after only a few feet. The car is untuned waiting for some decent weather. No reason why you cannot run the same time, or better. Hope you can make the CCC race in two week's time at PR.

John:

I might make that one... I am wanting to get the hood and wing of my car painted to match the body, but I am also wanting to get it to a track to see what it will run... What kind of a 60' time did you have?

I honestly can't imagine that I'll be in the low-11's/high-10's on all motor... That said, our set-ups are somewhat similar... You are running a carb through a Vic Jr. I am running a 90mm TB through a Vic Jr. We are both running LT-Headers... We are both running 4.10 gears... You are running a C-4 and I am running a Lentech AOD...

It would be fantastic if I ran high-10's... Then over the winter I would just bolt on a little nitrous kit and be done with the go-fast goodies... Then I could focus on making the car more streetable...

I look forward to seeing you at the track...

It will be an interesting EFI v Carb comparison. What are your cam specs?

Do you have a chip so your computer can deal with that short runner intake?

Converter?

My 60 ft times were not great. The best has been a 1.598. My best 60 with the T5 was a 1.50. With the T5, I considered a 1.60 a bad 60 ft. Running a 1.50 now would drop a couple tenths off my time. I have not had a chance to determine the best launch techniques.

Is is test-n-tune, or some sort of bracket deal?

CCC is bracket racing on teams with points awarded to the team and to you as an individual. The night's winner and runner up get trophies and their respective teams get lots of points. The goal is to make your team the CCC Champion for the year, which the Ford Drag Team has been for the last two years.

I don't think I'd make it, I get of at 5:30pm, traffic is really heavy going east on 520 and 90, not to mention south 5 through seattle and 167 south. I wouldn't get there until like 7pm.

John:

I am running the PMS system, so hopefully I will be able to tune for the short runners... My stall is the same 3000 stall that I was running behind my sprayed 302... Not sure how it is going to stall behind the torque of the 408, but figured that I would leave it in and see prior to sending it in for recalibration... I can data log the stall and provide that information to Edge Racing and it will help with the calibration... It has been so long, I can't remember the specs of the cam... It is a Jay Allen custom grind... It is interesting because it sounds pretty tame, with very little overlap, but Jay assured me that it will make the HP... If I recall correctly, it is a very high lift, short duration grind... I will have to find the specification card when I get back into town... I figured out the hot start problem over the weekend... Can you believe it -- I have two bad batteries... Who would have thunk... Man I traced every line and ground at least five times.... GRRRRRRR!!!!! It is always some thing incrediably simple... It is at Hogland's this week getting the rear hatch area done... I relocated the battery to the spare well and am having them put a rear deck/carpet down... They are also going to tint the windows... Then on Saturday I will be off to the Horsepower Ranch to have it dyno tuned... I have no idea what kind of numbers it is going to put down...

Are they doing regular Wednesday night T&T at PR this year? If not, when are their standard T&T nights???

Regards,

Regards,

I don't know how regular the Weds night sessions are, but I miss them. I think just running the car is the most fun. PR does have Weds. night TnT scheduled, the next two are May 21st and June 4th. Let me know if you go. I'll try to be there the same night.

So do I, but I am racing anyway. I'll do both at the same time. You'll likely get more passes racing and you will almost certainly get more passes sooner racing in the CCC.

Maybe I will race, but I am pretty sure my times are going to be erratic enough that I will be eliminated in the first round.

I guess I could hope that the other lane red lights:rolleyes:
