Hi all--After reading the raves on NXT, I just tried it after clay barring, cleaning and polishing the mustang. I don't think it is a better shine that Meg's Gold Class, but is sure as hell came off easier than Meg's GC! (And no white dust.) The shine is deep enough on the car that I can read my Tshirt in the reflection. Pretty good looking, if I do say so myself.

I've heard that some people say to put a light coat of a second wax after the NTX has cured for 24 hours. What would you advise? I have Gold Class, and am not against buying a new wax, but I live in the styx, so if you can't get it at Autozone or a place like that, I can't get it quickly. (And I need it quickly.)

So, advise a newbie. What would you advise?

Thanks!

ive used nxt and was impressed with the way it made my car look, durability was another issue. i use Klasse AIO as a cleaner/mild polish followed by Wolfgang sealer and topped with meguiar's #16. check out this site-www.autopia.org
enjoy and good luck

Just for giggles wait the 24 hours and put another coat of NXT on it. I think you will be pleased with the results. Here is my GT with 2 layers of NXT Tech Wax. I applied it early January and it lasted easily into March so I have no complaints in the durability department.

autopia advised a carnuba wax. I've read of people using Meg's GC. Where does one get the Klasse? Everyone talks about it, but I've never seen it. . . .

Hmm I am a long time member of Autopia and getting eveyone there to agree on something like that is like a snowball surviving well you know where

You have absolutely nothing to lose by trying another layer of NXT. If you still don't like it then go to a carnauba. If you want to top it with a carnauba I would suggest Meguiars #16 Professional Paste Wax.

You can get Klasse as well as #16 at the Autopia store. Just go to www.autopia-carcare.com. You won't find it in stores.

RJSTAAF--

Thanks! I can't believe that I didn't happen onto autopia before. I feel like I need to catch up!

I didn't know if the second coat of NXT would remove the first. Looking at it this AM, I like the shine a lot. (I'll snap a picture later today and post it.) I'll try another layer of NXT and see what happens. If I can find the Meg's Carnuba, I may try that next time.

Thanks for the help. Your mustang looks excellent! (Good to see SC represented. My parents used to live in Florence for awhile!)

NXT takes about 24 hours to cure and the difference once it cures is amazing. Yes, NXT does have cleaners in it but, they will NOT completely remove the previous layer as a lot of people say. It will not layer like Zaino does but, you will see a difference in NXT with 2-3 (24 hours between layers) layers tops, after that it is a waste of time and product. Also remember not to get the finish wet during the curing process as it will cause problems. That means no washing, quik detailing or rain until it has had the 24 hours to cure. That is really true for any wax or sealant but, NXT seems especially vulnerable during the curing process.

Do you have a NAPA auto parts store locally? They seem to be the best source for Meguiars professional like products. If they don't have it in stock they can probably order it. Other wise I would just get it from Meguiars directly, their warehouse and shipping are out of TN now so anything you order from Meguiars will get to you in a day or two once shipped.

Started with megs cleaner wax, then clayed the whole car, used megs polish then megs carnuba and then megs nxt wax booster...am i impressed. I have never seen nething quite like it. I had to stay and look at my pony for another 2 hourse just admiring it. I will take pics and post em later so u all can see what i mean. Not to mention all the cleaning included cleaning and coditioneing the soft top with taggtop cleaner and conditioner...for all you convertible owners...guys this stuff is the best stuff i have ever used on the top. no suds either. megs also makes a really nice leather conditioner.
