Well after having my 02 gt for 9 months i finnaly started modding it

I got a steeda tri ax shifter and a bbk CAI.

the shop over charged me for the intake so to make it up they gave me a credit in the store, so guess what i spent it on.

well i'll tell you flowmasters american thunder catback. should be on by the 1st of june.

does any one have this exhaust with a stock midpipe if so how loud and good does it sound?

The check engine light is on now that the CAI is hooked up willl mils fix this?

also what should i have at the wheels with the intake and exhaust?

Search the forum for the DarkWolf mod for your intake, otherwise you'll actually lose power when compared to the stock intake assembly. As for the check engine light, remove the negative battery cable for about 5 minutes then reconnect. If it comes back on, then I would suspect you've got other issues.

Adding the Flowmaster AT Catback is worth about 5 RHWP and lots of grins. Ck www.mustangexhaust.com for sound clips of various combos. Registration is required but it's free and very quick. You'll be listening to the sweet exhaust sounds in minutes.

IMO save up for some longtube headers, and an o/r x/h-pipe whatever is to your liking along w/ your catback. you'll freaking love it.

Surprisingly, the Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back Exhaust System will be quieter than you expect. This is because the mufflers that are used are 40 SERIES Delta Flow and not the original 40 SERIES mufflers. I added a Mac Off-Road H-Pipe and now the sound is quite nice.

To answer your question about the American Thunder cat back system....u WILL notice that the sound is Much Louder than the stock mufflers....When I picked up my car from Mineke (yea...i cant spell) I turned the car on and VrOOOooOm... I was impressed how much louder the car was..I am happy with Flowmaster...just what I wanted and expected from it!!

You DO NOT need to do the Darkwolf mod for you BBK CAI. The BBK CAI doesnt seem to like this mod from what Ive read, only the MAC and STEEDA kits do well with it. My BBK CAI runs fine on my car. Always has , and I dont have the Darkwolf mod. You should have no check engine lights from the CAI. Something was unhooked or messed up during the install.

You rotate the mass air meter like 90 degrees or something like that. There are a couple threads on here about it.

StangLou, have you tried this? How do you know you don't need it if you don't try it? The bend in the BBK and MAC CAIs are identical . . . you tellin' me the air flows differently through your BBK than it did my MAC if they have identical bends?

I have the MAC CAI and I did the darkwolf mod. I believe that it did work. Supposely the mixture is rich when you run the 90 degree bend CAI kits, but when the Mass Air meter is rotated to the passenger wheel well it will actually fouls the computer you are recieving less air therefore leans it back out. It is a free mod and it does not hurt to try.

I LOVE the PB! The car just runs SOOOO much smoother with it. I experienced what all the mags did with mine. If you get one, don't use the crummy T-Tap connectors. I soldered all my connections to be sure the system worked correctly for many years to come.

not aware of this t-tap connector but i'll see what i can do. heh thanks.. Do you have the link to where you got if from? From what i've heard, the engine revs a lot smoother and gas mileage is better.

edit: what would you say the gains were? around 3-5rwhp correct?

www.ignitionsolutions.com

When I bought mine, the going rate was $289, now I see they sell directly from their website for $225. Report back with what you think after you put it on.
