Get the k&n (under $200) thats the best improvment.
Now for $200 +..................... unlimited

Hum, with a k&n you will be looking at about maybe 5hp. With an intake elbow, I think this is what you are talking about, if so I say 10hp. I have put a k&n on my svo with success, I would say probably, 15hp. With the 5.0 I put a full CAI on it and felt nothing. I would go for some headers or underdrive pullies, these are more noticeable power adders, more than the cai and k&n, the pullies will really help if you have an auto, if you have a 5spd, then get a shifter, it makes it alot more fun to drive.

No I don't have one currently but I had one a while back. They are not worth the money. Save the money and get something worth while. Just my opinion.

Uh, 15 hp with a K&N? Even a full CAI will hardly do anything on a stock motor. Please don't be fooled by that.

The best bang for your buck would be gears, but ruling that out due to installation, second in line would be MGW shifter - without a doubt. No amount of minimal horsepower gained from anything under $200 can even touch a MGW shifter in performance gains.

Gears or shifter. Dont bother with K&N yet. A CAI / filter will be the LAST mod i do to my stang, not the other way around...

Well for $200 I would get a $150 JLT RAI. www.jlttruecoldair.com should be it. Best CAI out there IMHO.

K&N has been dyno tested on a bullitt and made 1RWHP and 3RWTQ. JLT has been proven to gain 1MPH in the 1/4 and give 8RWHP.

EDIT Put that other $50 towards a nice shifter, or better yet GEARS. But afetr instal gears will run about $500...shifter can be easily installed yourself and costs about $200.

The k&n is reusable, just clean and reoil, so you wont ever have to buy
another paper filter.
