First paint pics

Thunder came back from the paint shop yesterday. Reassembly starts. The whole car won't get painted until the full body weight is on the chassis and all panels are installed and aligned.

oh man that is gorgeous. what color is that? it kinda looks like 06-up mustang vista blue

Thanks, the blue is a lambo blue, but I will have to talk to the painter to confirm that he didn't tweak it. It has a lot of pop, and does a real nice colour change to a purplish blue, at angles

I am really happy with the results. The pics really don't do the colour justice. It looks far better in person.

All the hours I spent block sanding the engine bay, grinding the welds, taking all the ripples out of the top of the rad support, now look like they were worth it

Looks awsome! This is the same route I am taking with the wife's 68 GT, although it is because laying on paint at -30 to -40 degrees in a shop out in the country is not so easy to do. It will take a lot of masking to keep an almost fully built and detailed car clean and clear of overspray. Keep us posted.
