Well look at it this way:

You got rid of the track virginity, you didn't break anything, and you had fun

Work on the launches and things will improve with practice

yeah, thats what I said when I started running at the track....never did beat 14.3 damnit!
launches are tricky...nothing works better than some drag radials!
No one I KNOW can get better than 1.9 60' with streets

well, first time at the track... you will get better

however, if your best run was a 15.1... i dont think ur shifting fast enough... i had a 2.4 60ft and still managed to run 14.4@98... with less power mods and no gears at the time...

with a 2.3 60ft you should still be in the low low 14's...and be closer to 98-100mph with your exhaust mods... as long as you are shifting fast enough... your mph is too low

but keep at it and im sure you can see some much better times

a friend of mine got a 14.1 on street tires and a 13.6 with drag radials. The fastest i got was a 15.1 on street tires, also had crappy 60ft times

Dont feel bad man, ive been to the track once and could only muster a 14.9 in the 1/4. My 1/8th mile time was a freaking 9.7... The guy that owned the car before me ran a 9 flat in the 1/8th, so I know the car is high high 13 or 14 flat capable.

My 60's were a 2.2.

PRACTICE!!

I'd say you need to work on your launches and your shifting. My first run the second time out I ran a 14.5 with a 2.55 60' (eww I know, sucked), but I started making up for it down the track. I'm running the stock shifter right now and I'm still bangin' em without missing a gear. You should be able to drop your et by roughly a full second, and I would do that BEFORE you get your gears. Get what you can out of your current setup before you make your car even harder to launch.

nwapache - That is my current goal, to get a 1.8 60'. I'm constanly trapping 99mph and cant seem to hit 100 so I think going down the track its not going to get any better without more power. I'm running on street tires right now (not DR's) and will be shooting for a better 60' the next time I go out...maybe tomorrow night we'll see.

Dragstr... what RPM are you shifting at?

The first run, I shifted like a little b*tch... 2nd run I didnt wind 1st out, hardly ran 2nd out but I let third wind... pretty sure thats where my slowness was coming from.

I picked up close to 2mph from my first to second run.

60' was better on the first run though, little slower on the 2nd run... but I made up for it after the 1/8th mile, which was still slower on the 2nd run.

Really confusing, and I want to go back and tear the track a new one... hahaha.

yeah you should run a 13.8 or so easy.. your 94 MPH trap speed is low. at a sea level track like eglishtown you should get 99 or so stock.. This tells me your shifting needs some work too..

A bit of advice I hope will help you..

Do not try to kill the tree, just take your time who cares about the R/T it does not effect your ET's or MPH.. untill you get the hang of getting out of the hole clean just forget the tree

Practice, practice! Englishtown is a fairly fast track for reasons posted by svtech76. I ran a 13.92@100.3 stock over there.
