Well, being that it's the first time you've ever raced at the track. It's not that bad, considering. The best mod you can do at this point, is get some practice.

Not trying to be an ass but, the better you learn your car, the better you can utilize your car's potential. Don't look at more power mods at this point, if I were you, start practicing launches, shift points, etc.

Hope that helps.

uhm, its not like hes bracket racing or anything, the r/t doesnt matter at all.
drop the front swaybar get the 60' down to a 2.0 or so and you could see low 14s with no other mods. also, work on the 1-2, 2-3 shifts get them faster the mph seems a little low which would make me think its in the driving.

good job first time out though

Reaction time isn't factored into ET.

thanks for all the replies guys. i will practice some more, i think on the 24th they are having some more street legals. i don't plan on doing anymore mods to my car anytime soon, no money...probably not till school is out in june. which leaves me lots of time to hit up the street legals and practice the launches and shifts, things like that.

not bad for your first time at all. i'm guessing if you had another couple of runs you would have gotten it down even farther any straight stretch of back road i find, i stop & practice as long as noone is anywhere around of course. you never get too good for pratice.

btw--are the street leagal drags where they actually block of the street & set up equipment????? i saw something like that on tv awile back & was wondering if that's what your doing

no, it is at california speedway. they spent alot putting in this 1/4 mile system that can be removed when it is not needed. pretty much just plugs into the area of the parking lot they built. it has the burnout box and everything. it was cool. i had been down there before, just never ran. last night was my first time.

Your 1/4 mile times are pretty much determined by you 60' time. In your second run, you improved from a 2.40 to a 2.26 which dropped your total et from 14.70 to a 14.52. So the .14 sec dropped your et .18. So if you dropped your 60' down to a 2.0, it would probably put you in the 14.1 range. Have fun and good luck.

There is a pretty steep learning curve. You will get better. It looks like your spinning through 1st and possibly the shift to second. DR's will help that a bunch. If you already have DR's then you just need to find a good launching rpm and learn how to feather the clutch and gas pedal. All this takes lots of practice. It doesn't happen over night. Good luck on the 24th. I wish I could go. I am sure you will report back with better times.

My first time at the track, my car rolled over 1k miles on the way to the track. I had an o/r H-pipe and Spintechs. I couldn't get out of the 14.7x's. I think a combination of learning the car and the car breaking in helped out later as I ran a 14.21 later in the summer with the stock H back in the car and a Magnaflow catback and no other mods. Now I have quite a bit more stuff in the car and hope my times drop next year when the track opens back up. So yes, I would say for your first time out you are doing fine. Drop the 60ft times, and you'll be doing much better.
