a 9.4 in the 1/8 in a non pi car is equal to a 14.6

ps. jackie chan is right, i do a 10 second burn on the stock gatorbacks and cut mid 1.9s-2.0s, consistently i come off the line around 4000, and speedshift second at 5000 to limit wheelspin then 5700 for 2-3, powershift, and 5500 for 3-4 powershift...

first time i was at the track with the stang i ran 14.5 then 14.3 and finally a 14.2 @ 97.98 mph the 14.3 and 14.2 both came from 2.2 60 footer's lauching at idle (fellow stang owners told me to do so) btw my car always went sideways on the 1-2 shift and i was shifting at about 6k give or take ( speedshifting i didnt know how to powershift her then)...Does shifting @ 5500 really make a difference?

I want to stop the SOB from going sideways...

I started leaving around 1500 rpms and shifting at 5600 rpms in 2nd, them 5800 in 3rd and 4th, I also have 4.10s. if stock gears you will only need 3rd and run it up. When I first started racing I also got sideways withthe 1-2 shift. I found I was jerking the steering wheel. I moved my hand to the bottom of the steering wheel and it went away . I will come with practice. I have cut 1.95 -2.1 60ft on street tires. Practice. My mph is now 100-103 depending on launch. I never did better than 14.1 until I learned how to shift.
