That would be your choice....but just know you'll spend about $500 to $2,000 more than you need to just to end up making the same or slightly less power with the Kenne Bell.

Hello everyone. Researching the installation of an 04 Cobra Eaton on an 01 Gt has led me to your site. Is there any hood clearance issues with the factory hood and does the alternator have to be relocated?

The terminator kit comes with a cross brace that the alternator mounts to in it's new location. They also make a bit longer hood scoop to give you clearance for the blower snout. It's about 1/3 of the cost of having to buy a new hood. The last one I saw that did the swap hit well over 400 rear wheel.

The great thing about the vortech's at least is that you can upgrade to the T trim for like 600$, with the kenne bell you don't have that option. I know for me at-least, as soon as i build a motor im sending my lil sq trim back to vortech and exchanging it for a t-trim..hellooo 27psi

Thanks for the reply. That was one of my concerns. I'd like to keep it in stock appearance outside. Would you know if a Kenne Bell clears the stock hood?

Never say never. They're getting pretty close with this set up….

570rwhp/582rwtq from only 1.84L of blower.....and running 10.53@131.68mph in a heavy assed convertible, no less!…..and there’s plans to add another 2psi to it still!!!

I see the 2V 600rwhp barrier being breached quite soon.

It will...but again, keep in mind, you're spending a lot more on the Kenne Bell. The Tork Tech scoop was based on and looks very much like stock if you're concerned about keeping the factory appearance?

The Vortech equipped car is running 11.1 at 132 at 665 hp and the Eaton equipped Saleen Convertible is running 10.53 at 132 at 570 hp with an extra 4-500 pounds over a coupe. Something doesn't compute. I could have misread an old post I guess.

As the old saying goes: horsepower sells cars; torque wins races.

Although I have a feeling it has more to do with tires and/or drivers.

BTW, anyone know if they ever got a kit together for the NPI heads?

edit: 04YellowGT's numbers are 10.85 @ 128, although I don't see dyno numbers (which don't matter anyway, IMO)

That could have to do with so many other factors though: the driver, the tires, the drive-train, the track, the weather...

The vortech driver must really suck cause this is a video of a 440rwhp gt running an 11.53

I supose tires/track/driver, etc could have very well been the reason for the poor run with the Vortech car, but as you guys can plainly see in the Saleen convertible video posted above...traction seemed to be an issue with the Magnuson Eaton equipped car as well. He basically broke it loose all the way through first. Had he gotten traction, I'd bet my left one he would have been hovering right around the 10.0X-10.1X ET mark.

And based on the 10-mph lower trap speed...its clear to me the last Vortech car wasn't making anywhere near the same amount of power that either of the other ones described above were....which could very well be a deciding factor in the amount of available traction the driver had to work with?
