I have a 2003 mustang. Lately my battery has been drained after I haven't driven it for a few days. I have already replaced the battery and put in a new alternator but I've still had the problem. I determined with a light tester that fuse 7 which controls the GEM and interior lights is drawing power from the battery even when the car is off. I've been pulling the fuse at night but I need a more permanent solution. Any ideas?

Your post does not state if the interior lights is actually on with the fuse in.

Note, the GEM draws some power ALL of the time. Normally the draw is very low.

These problems are difficult to track down because there are several timing functions inside the GEM. For that reason it is necessary to actually MEASURE the current draw initially and after 5 minutes and then up to 30 minutes.

Usually, an amp meter is installed at the battery. Fuses are pulled one at a time until the offending fuse is located. Then using the amp meter, each device on the circuit is looked at.

We really need to know how large the amp draw is. Also, was this the only fuse with a draw?
