Fix my steering, or buy rack and pinion ?

Is it really worth buying a rack and pinion conversion over just getting a new p/s control valve, and a new Flaming River (or something) steering box.
A lot of people seem to be fine w/ a good steering box. I'll never road race the car -

What else wears out that I can replace to help the steering ? I have new ball joints only. Just wonder if by the time I replace what all is needed I could have got a R & P conversion.

Any suggestions ? Good parts ?

all depends on what you want to do with the car... my vote is to go rack

I just want to eliminate play in the steering, and the p/s to work good.

well fixing up stock would always be cheaper

not with something like that Randall Rack R & P kit. For me a new conrtol valve body, and steering box could = $600- $700. Would I need anything else like tie rod ends that a R & P kit may come with ?
Which would be more worth the money ? Not as concerend about the $$ as what's really worth the money.

randall's kit would not be much more that a new flaming river box, control valve and ram cylinder, actually if you bought all those pieces new, it would be a little cheaper

My steering isnt very good....Im saving my shekels for a R&P setup myself.
