I'm not one to start threads, I just read and try to help others best I can but I figured I would share this. I bought my 96' GT 3 years ago and bought it knowing the ABS light was one and it could be expensive to fix depending on what the issue was with the system. I've done cosmetic stuff too it, replaced the NPI engine with a full PI engine, but I have never sat down to figure out why the ABS light was on until this week when I had some free time on my vacation. Did some google searches on how the system works. The diag. port is readable via a EEC-IV scanner but code getting is as easy as using a jumper wire. Wish I had of got off my lazy ass and figured this easy stuff out 3 years ago because it turned out to be just a simple 70.00 front left wheel sensor. Yep. No more ABS light and I was surprised at the 100% difference there is in pedal feel and the way the car stopped.
