Fixed part of my problem

Well i think i've fixed part of my problem with my car. I changed the fuel filter cuz the past 3 years i've had it i've never changed it. And i go underneath and i poked it with my finger it was rusted soo bad that i almost busted a hole right through the filter :nonono: Stupid michigan weather i swear. My underneath of my car is a lil bit rusted but not bad. Just the fuel filter was. Soo my car runs good now. Which i think cured my check engine light problem but odnt know.

But..... my temp is acting really weird. When it was like 90 out my car was running extremely cool. Like under the N which i was really excited about. But this afternoon when it cooled down a bit i was sittin at a light and i watched it go from N to L really fast. Then i started going and it cooled down to Between R and M. Anyone know what would cause that? I had changed my thermostat a year ago soo i doubt it's that but you never know

You might want to see if your electric fan is working properly. When you start the car, the fan should turn on (I think). When the car gets over (??? degrees, can't remember), the fan should start turning faster (high speed kicks in).

Check out the haynes manual. It should be more specific. Someone here could tell you also.

Mine has done that a couple times too, the temperature gauge would move really quick to either cold or hot and i dont think its possible to do that but i could be wrong. After that incident its always stayed at the N or the O, im pretty sure the gauge just sucks.
