Flaming River steering...

I am fired up....I just ordered the new FR slave cylinder and control valve for my 67 w/power steering. I decided not to go with a rack setup, but I am thinking of purchasing the steering box also. I have been told that the steering box fits power and manual cars. With mine being power will this make a difference? Thanks for any help....

The Flaming River steering box is a direct replacement for your steering box so no worries there. If someone has a manual box the FR one simply gives them the 16:1 ratio of the PS setup.....which is the way to go for manual anyway IMHO.

Sportscars aren´t suppose to have powerbrakes or steering, otherwise driving them wouldn´t be sports

the FR boxes really tighetn up the 40 yr old steering, you can buy 67-68 short shaft Flaming river boxes on Ebay for $345 all the time. I just bought a long shaft for my 65 for $375 and they are always listed on there.

I didn't know they had a slave cylinder, (power steering ram), for our cars. Where did you find it? What's different about it? I knew they offered rack and pinion, gear boxes, and steering columns, but not a stock replacement cylinder.

I actually saw a post on the other classic forum where someone regretted converting to a rack and the post had a cross-ref to FRs site and there it was... He said he shoud have gotten that for the money.....so that is what I'm doing since my cylinder leaks I'm replacing it all....I think I'm going to order the box too.How can I tell what sector shaft size I have?

You can measure it from under the car. The shaft comes thru the nut.
