The american thunder is supposed to be louder. I just put it on my car and i love the sound and it's still getting better. Put it on and drive it for a few weeks before you decide if you like it or not. Just my .02

American Thunder is the one you want. It is louder of the two, but docile at idle. Force II uses three chamber mufflers, while the American Thunder uses 2 chambers. Ck www.mustangexhaust.com for all kinds of exhaust combos. Registration is required to hear the sound files, but it's free and quick. You'll be cranking up the speakers in minutes!

Six months later for me - Yeah, actually mine is getting louder - I'd swear. Definately more burble (?) when decelerating than it had at first. Not like it's blowing the exhaust system apart or anything, but more like it's just settling in - sweeeeet!

I don't remember exactly what the reason is since it has been 7 yrs since my last mustang build, but something in the materials of the flowmaster makeup requires break in time and does sound better after a period of use. I love the flowmaster sound and it is actually not as common as most people say it is on this site. With so many options available now a lot of people are using different manufacturers than flowmaster. I still love that classic flowmaster/5.0 sound that I had for years.

american thunder is better than force II. force II is bearly aggressive at all, you'd think you were in a mildly modded work truck or something . American thunder is alright as a cat-back system if your looking for pretty good sound. If you want the full-on effect, get an offroad pipe to go with the flows, then you'll REALLY turn some heads.

All depends on what you are looking for. The ameican thunder is louder than the force11. I have the force 11 and personaly i like it. Especially since the did an h pipe with it, but i did'nt want too loud. So its all a matter of opinion.

I dont think you should put a Flowmaster at all on ur stang. They give no power. Mustang Magic on Long Island did a dyno test and found that on 4.6l mustangs it actually caused a 1hp loss. He recommended the Mac catback, and honnestly, i think it sounds a lot better. if you want to hear it for yourself check out www.Mustangmagic.com theres a vid clip of his cobra with a MAC
