flowmaster Side Exhaust

i called flowmaster and the only mufflers that have the inlet/outlet on the same side are the 52580. Has anyone used these mufflers before on a stang i heard they are pretty long mufflers and might not fit. Just wanna see if anyone has either used them or heard them. I want to go back to my side exhaust but i love the flowmaster sound

magnaflow side exhaust is what you're going for... BUT there was one guy who went with FLOWMASTER but was dissapointed and then switched to the ROUSH Spintech Side exhaust and is giving good reviews all the time now

kevikev94596: "Just be careful when going over large speed bumps or exiting driveways..."

Yeah i know how that is i just installed my Cobra R front Air dam and all i can say is "Ouch" everytime theres speed bumps or dips on the road. Im glad i went with the Ford Racing Piece since it is removable. Curious to see what magnaflows sound like in a side exhaust. Looks like im leaning toward the spintech setup with Cobra R tips nothing but good reviews and recommendation on that. Anyone know the cheapest place to get the spintech setup?

get it straight from spintech and you won't be sorry... only one thing tho... if you have a vert get the spintech subs too!

also the sound of pipes scraping is a lot worse than the fascia... you hear pipes rubbing and it's bad... also make sure you get good slim clamps from your body shop... those can be a reason for scrapage too :P

if you need any help pm me... i've done this setup before i got my roush side exhaust

From what I hear, side exit exhaust gives the least amount of horsepower. Our normal straight out the back gives less than turndowns. I'm not sure this is a fact, but it's what I hear. I think I read once that was the reason the Viper got rid of the side exhaust. C'mon, I know someone wants to raise the :bs: flag!!! It's probably not too much of a difference anyways, just thought I would share this info. Has anyone else heard of this??

Spintech also claims it gains, but i am almost sure it doesn't... if it were straight pipes going directly to the side, then yes it would gain, but we have mufflers to worry about...

im looking at getting a set of used borla side exhaust. I know borla sounds mean. So I am waiting for the reply, the muffler has a dent from roadkill lol, but it's dirt cheap and spintech mufflers are $100 so It's still cheaper. I think borla wants 650 + shipping for their side exhaust.

btw i was thinking about waiting till mid summer to get the spintech sub's, this ok?

One more thing, dont forget to add the cost of a new bumper or bumper covers to your cost. The cut outs look odd w/ no tail pipes. bumpers.com has v6 rear covers for 185 painted, anyone hear good or bad about them?

I asked the same question about loosing hp on fnsweet and got a couple of responses of between 3 and 5 hp but not sure. all i can say is that before i lost my stage 2 it had the enhanced sound magnaflows and it sounded really good.

you don't have a vert, so you would be fine with running no subs all day long :P now if you did have a vert... no subs is bad... i am experiencing it right now and it sucks :(
