Fock you guys! MAC's FTW.....If you want to put fear in the hearts of many, rev up with mac's and make sure you have a nice mid pipe to complement it, there face will drop.....lol i sound like a douche but its true.

To the poster, you have to put a few 1000 miles on your macs for the tone to get deeper. They change over time!!! just like flows.

I have a Dynomax 2.5" or x-pipe into Mac 3" cat back with 3.5" tips. The most common compliment I get is "Your car doesn't sound like a Mustang". I have nothing against Flows, but so many people use them that they are kinda generic on a Stang. My set up is quiet in the car but supa loud outside. I'm almost afraid I'm going to get a ticket. My tone has changed a little, it got deeper.

I went a bit bigger than I needed to in the diameters for na, but I plan on turboing soon and didn't want to buy exhaust again.

I'd be honest. I think properly set up flowmaster do sound nice, eventho some are just too loud for me.

American Thunder with ProChamber would be sweet.

IF Flowmaster make them in Stainless that is. I hate rusty mufflers, and unfortunatly, way our car is set up, muffler is visible from back in certain cases...

They don;t do all that bad. My flowmaster cat-back is 3 years old and i've driven my stang through new england winters. My mufflers are still silver and color. They don't have any surface rust on them at all.

My MAC cat-back that i had on my 5.0 for 4 years before swapping to flows rusted up so badly i could flake rust off the mufflers. I swapped them for flows 3 years ago as well and same thing...mufflers still silver colored.

When I had my O/r H pipe, LT headers and flows I got so many compliments. I haven't got one with my new setup... Kind of makes me sad

The reason I put the Flows on my Stang is the 6 year old Magnaflows rusted out around the welds and sounded like arse. Plus they looked like they were packed with fiberglass. The car has a much nicer and deeper tone with the chambered mufflers. The setup I have is similar to my last 5.0 except the GT had MACs and it was waaaaayyyy louder.

Yeah I got the opposite, with my mac's, people say it sound like an old school muscle mustang. With a o/r mid pipe they are ungodly loud.

My flowmasters eventually rusted out (took them a few years ) so I went with magnaflows afterwards. A bit too quiet for my liking, though car sounds decent

I agree with the Mac's kicking ass and taking names...

Dont get me wrong, my buddy had a BBK o/r X and 40 series on his GT, and it sounded sick... really loud (yes, BBK X sounded good), dont beleive the internet bashing untill you personally hear it.

I have a UPR o/r X with my Mac's and I love the sound... its kind of the best of both worlds, X scream and chambered blurble/deepness.

It SCREAMS like an old school muscle car when you put the skinny pedal to the floor.

And the only similarity between Mac's and Flow's is the fact that they are chambered. Aside from that internally they are INCREDIBLY different.

Now its time to whore some clips, lol.

MAC 100%,i always get compliments on the way my car sounds since the day u put them on.they are deff not the same as flowmasters, flowmasters suck and are not nearly as loud.strait though with no cats sounds like a camaro to me.if you still have cats then straight thru packed muffs sound ok but i think the chambered muff gives it that classic mustang sound

I had LT's o/r H and 2 chamber flowmasters on my other cobra. This Cobra had them but I ended up going with LT's o/r x and magnaflow dumps. Sounds better imo

I also had flowmasters on the LS1 when I first got it, but went with a magnaflow catback w/ cutout

Umm the difference here is the midpipe. the one isn't specified (stock?) and the 2nd is an O/R X

Maybe I'm a little biased....

I have a Pro Chamber with Flow 2 chambers (rust is a non issue, doesn't rain here)...the car also has bbk shortys.... I love the 2k drone and how the car sounds like it's always in a tunnel

and with the lope at idle from the cams....nothing sounds prettier

o/r x + flows = hallow tinny sound, that I don't care for. heard a mach with bassani x, and 40 flows and sounded like ass.

also heard a stang with bbk o/r x and that also sounded like ass.

completely subjective of course.

objective reasoning leads me to say that borlas = #1 .

Most of the sound clips ive heard online of a BBK o/r X and 40 series Flows sucked. Then I heard my freinds car in real life, and it sounded alot better. Its not my top choice by any means, im just saying my opinion is that it doesnt suck in real life as bad as it e-sucks, hahaha.

A buddy of mine has a ProChamber and Stingers on his Mach-1 and that car raises the hairs on the back on my neck and makes me break out in a nervous sweat when he even just starts the thing, much less gets on the gas.

From my experience, if you want loud sound then go with Flows... I ran Flowmasters on my last three 5liter foxes, then i finally got tired of the interior drone, etc.

Magnaflow FTW.
